HOUSTON CHRONICLE ORDERS QUIPP VIPERS

Miami, FL, August 27, 2002 – Quipp Systems, announced today the receipt of a significant new order from the Houston Chronicle.

The order includes eight (8) Quipp Viper ¾ Bottomwrappers, which will be added to a significant array of existing Quipp equipment. The Houston Chronicle has been a satisfied Quipp customer since 1992.

Installation is scheduled to begin in November 2002.

Quipp’s Viper provides the fastest, most advanced means available today, of applying economical kraft paper protection to newspaper bundles.
