SECOND
GENERATION OF QUIPP GRIPPER FOR US MARKET
Miami,
FL, January 27, 2003 – Quipp Systems, Inc, a leading
supplier of post-press equipment and systems to the newspaper industry,
identifies recent installations of Quipp-Gripp II
Conveyor System. With dozens of the original Quipp-Grip Series Conveyors
in operation especially in Asia and in Latin America locations since
1987, the new Quipp-Gripp II include substantial
modifications and improvements to meet the higher production rates
and product sizes typical of US newspaper operations.
The
Greenville (SC) News, The Raleigh Offset (NC) and The Daily Record
in Wooster, OH are now in full operation with Quipp-Gripp
II, as is Ultimas Noticias (Cadena Capriles) of Caracas,
Venezuela.
Included
in the Quipp-Gripp II improvements involve first
the grippers – made of a composite material with nitrogen
hardened alloy wear surfaces, each mounted on a fully articulating
chain “link”, supported on three polyurethane wheels
with SKF-style ground bearings. In addition, control is centered
in a PC-driven full color touch screen, which incorporates a series
of operator-friendly screens to facilitate quick setup and understandable
monitoring of operation and maintenance requirements.
Flexible,
accurate and extremely rugged, the Quipp-Gripp II
is a cost-effective solution to the complex problems of moving product
around today's newspaper mailroom. It excels at this critical task
while setting new standards for control and accuracy.
