The Company was incorporated in Florida on April 1980, as a wholly owned subsidiary of EDS Technologies, Inc.. James Quakenbush and Louis Kipp, formerly Chairman of the Board and President of the Company, respectively, resigned from EDS and became active in the Company in August, 1983.
Messrs. Quakenbush and Kipp targeted newspapers as a marketplace and designed and manufactured a newspaper stacker that would be recognized as “The Best” in the industry.
In August, 1986, Quipp issued stock publicly and the stock is traded over-the-counter (NASDAQ Stock Symbol: QUIP).
The Company, located in Miami, FL., owns approximately 60,000 sq. ft. of office and manufacturing area.
Based upon Messrs. Quakenbush and Kipp’s shared vision of building the best newspaper stacker in the business, Quipp has established an excellent reputation for manufacturing quality products. Quipp has a dominant share of the domestic market for stackers and bottomwrappers.

Mr. Kady is President and Chief Executive Officer of Quipp, Inc. and President of Quipp’s operating subsidiary, Quipp Systems, Inc. Prior to joining Quipp, he was President and COO of privately-held manufacturers of engineered components and capital equipment, including a designer and builder of automated material handling systems and machinery. Mr. Kady also served in a variety of operations, financial, and general management positions with Cooper Industries and FMC Corporation.
Mr. Bello is Vice President of Finance of Quipp, Inc. and Quipp Systems, Inc. Prior to joining Quipp, he served as Corporate Controller of Med-Waste, Inc., a company involved in medical waste management; Controller of Nature’s Products, Inc., a vitamin manufacturer; and Controller of the U.S. Division of Althin Medical, Inc., a medical device manufacturer. Mr. Bello, who is a Certified Public Accountant, also was on the auditing staff of KPMG Peat Marwick (now KPMG LLP).
Mr. Sjogren, Executive Vice President, is the Quipp’s chief technologist and responsible for new product development and mechanical and electrical design engineering. He has been with Quipp since its inception and has played a significant role in the development of its products. He is the holder of eighteen (18) US patents and has been in the newspaper post-press business since 1965.
Mr. Switalski, Vice President of Operations, is responsible for production, purchasing, facilities, quality control and manufacturing systems. He has been instrumental in enhancing the quality of the Company’s products by developing and implementing innovative production management processes and procedures. He has directed the manufacturing operations since 1984.
Mr. Arrabal, Vice President of Sales, is responsible for worldwide sales activities. His extensive post-press industry experience includes sales support, engineering and management. He has been with Quipp since 1986, mainly in the capacity of managing the sales activities for the Company.
Mr. Jamil, Vice President of Customer Service, is responsible for preparation of quotations, product testing, installations, customer support and project management. He has been in the newspaper post-press business, starting with IDAB, since 1982. He has been with Quipp since 1984 and his dedication to customer service has, throughout the years, enhanced our image as a company who genuinely cares about its customers.
